7 personal stories about how the arts serve as a coping mechanism for individuals’ mental health recovery.

We also announced our 2019 Christopher Alfred Baker Memorial Scholarship to a college student living with mental illness and pursing an arts-related degree.

CHRISTOPHER ALFRED BAKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Christopher Alfred Baker Memorial Scholarship is a $500 scholarship sponsored by What it’s Like Project for students pursuing an art-related college degree. This scholarship was established in honor of Christopher Alfred Baker of Houston, TX. He was a 20-year-old music major who was passionate about piano with a particular interest in opera.


WHAT IT’S LIKE PROJECT

What it’s Like Project is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to removing the stigma of mental illness through art, education and community engagement. We support unique perspectives, encouraging creativity in individuals living with mental illness through various art disciplines.
